Alexander Steffler

Senior Staff Representative

Originally from Houston, Texas, Alexander Steffler began his AMIGOS career as a Houston chapter Volunteer in Cordillera, Paraguay in 2002. He returned to AMIGOS as a supervisor in Paraguarí, Paraguay, in 2004 and was the Associate Project Director in Costa Rica in 2005. In 2007, he was the Project Director for Lempira, Honduras, and he is currently the training director for the Washington, DC chapter.

Alexander graduated in 2007 from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, with a B.A. in international affairs. In 2006, he received a grant from GWU's department of anthropology to study Paraguayan immigration to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in 2007 he worked for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars as a program intern for the Center's Mexico Institute.

Alexander is currently the Program Coordinator for the Hispanic National Bar Foundation in Washington, DC, a nonprofit organization that works to support and inspire educational achievement within the Hispanic community.

In his spare time, Alexander enjoys photography, exploring Washington, DC, and traveling.
