Matthew Closter joined the International Office Staff after serving as Project Director in Costa Rica for the 2005 summer. His prior experience with AMIGOS includes serving as a Volunteer in Oaxaca, Mexico in 2000 and a Project Supervisor in Dajabón, Dominican Republic in 2003.

Matt is originally from the Washington, D.C. area, but graduated in May, 2005 from Brandeis University with a BA in Anthropology and Sociology, and a minor in Spanish. At school, Matt served as the Senior Co-Chair of the student alumni association and enjoyed working at the campus radio station by hosting an interview news program. He spent the spring semester of his junior year studying at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Valparaíso, Chile. He lived with a host family and had wonderful opportunities to travel throughout Chile and neighboring countries.
