Reporting LIVE from CV Training

By:Reed Renfrow

Last Saturday 30 Correspondent Volunteers (CVs) arrived in Miami for a 4 day training to prepare them for their summer Volunteer work in Paraguay, Ecuador and Costa Rica. In addition to myself, the training is being led by fellow IO Staff Daniel Pacheco and Celdie Sanabria, as well as former Boston Chapter Training Director, Peter Hill. I'm excited to report that the Volunteers successfully completed the core curriculum for AMIGOS training and are excited to be leaving for their projects soon. The Volunteers from all over the country did an excellent job in participating enthusiastically in all of the activities. We are proud to send these outstanding Volunteers to their project areas, where the Project Staff teams are anxiously awaiting their arrival. When they arrive, they will have a few more days of project-specific training, find out who their partners will be for the summer, and then head off to meet their host families and get started on their projects. The excitement is building! The Volunteers can’t wait to get on their planes bound for San Jose, Quito and Asuncion. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish this summer!
