Community Development Internships

AMIGOS is highly respected for its community owned projects and globally aware participants. Our experience has led to long-standing partnerships with local non-profits and host communities that ensure the sustainability of our projects. By working with local community organizations, AMIGOS ensures that you will work on projects that are locally designed and meet the needs of the community.

As a Gap participant, you will be matched with an internship at a community development agency based on your personal preferences and the needs of our partner agencies. The focus of your internship could range from working on women's rights at ADIC, to rural youth at Plan International. In addition to your internship, you will collaborate with your new network to identify, plan, and carry out a service project based on your unique community. Your internship and service project will challenge you to be successful in new cultural environments, take initiative, solve problems, practice cross-cultural communication and improve your Spanish language skills.
