Bevil Grants Overview
The Foundation strives to help AMIGOS reach a new level of success and to provide opportunities for Volunteers and host communities to pioneer new initiatives. During each AMIGOS summer, the Foundation supports numerous innovative projects. Every community that AMIGOS places Volunteers in will complete a community-specific initiative funded through their own efforts and through AMIGOS support. The projects listed below are additional projects that the Project Staff in the field have identified to support innovative, passionate communities who want to go above and beyond.
Since 2004, the Foundation has supported the completion of over 100 community projects through these grants, named after our founder and first Executive Director, Guy Bevil. The projects have ranged from sport fields to community centers to microenterprises.
This year, the Project Staff has identified some truly outstanding projects. We hope you will consider supporting these with us:
- Support a Soccer League in Cañar, Ecuador
- Renovate Classrooms in Coclé, Panama
- Improve Roads in Matagalpa, Nicaragua
- Build a School Kitchen in Paraguari, Paraguay
- Promote Cross-Cultural Understanding in Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica
- Build Healthy Stoves and Healthy Meeting Places in San Pedro, Paraguay
- Rescue the Recycling Center in Yucatan, Mexico
- More to Come!
