Oaxaca, Mexico, Project Deadline Extended

2006 Oaxaca Volunteers spend time with their host mothers.

The application deadline for the Oaxaca community nutrition and technology projects has been extended to April 30, 2008. Volunteers in the beautiful, culturally rich southern state of Oaxaca will facilitate summer programs for youth and community members. They may choose a nutrition program to promote the use of amaranth, a native nutritious grain, or a technology project to educate indigenous groups about the use of digital technology, focusing on the documentation and preservation of local culture. Both projects require excellent Spanish skills. Volunteers must be 18 years of age by September 1, 2008, to participate.

All other projects are at capacity.
