Lempira Project Briefing

lempira-smThe Volunteers all arrived to beautiful Lempira, Honduras and spent three days in the staff host city of Gracias for briefing. The Volunteers enjoyed getting to know each other, eating their first Honduran tortillas, creating their first lesson plans and learning about their communities. Volunteers were excited to welcome their local youth counterparts from each of the communities to the last day and night of briefing. Volunteers and their youth counterparts planned their first week in community, participated in team-building exercises and enjoyed a folkloric dance performance presented by our host agency Plan Honduras and AMIGOS Senior Staff members. Volunteers arrived in their communities Friday afternoon, ready with plenty of classroom materials to begin their educational activities, micro-project planning and regional fair presentations.
