Lempira, Honduras Project Update

July 25, 2008

The Volunteers have done a wonderful job motivating each of their communities to complete the projects and take part in amazing educational workshops. The second half of the summer has been full of great regional fairs, in which Volunteers and their local youth counterparts presented on Honduran and U.S. culture through song, dance, dramas, posters and more. It is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. The

Volunteers have been enjoying wonderful goodbye parties, including folkloric dancing and mountains of food. Debriefing will be a great time to reflect on their summers in Honduras, enjoy seeing the Mayan ruins in Copan and explore our colonial host city of Gracias before heading home. We are so proud of all the creativity and dedication the Volunteers have put into such a great couple of months in Lempira, Honduras.

AMIGOS Voices

“I feel privileged and honored to be a part of this great organization. AMIGOS has the ‘right stuff’. It’s a phenomenal organization that year after year just gets better. I have seen the marvelous change that the organization made in my son and I want other kids to have that experience.”
