Guna Yala is a narrow strip of land and archipelago of over 350 islands along the Carribean Coast of Panamá that is governed by the Guna indigenous people. We are thrilled to open this new project in Guna Yala in collaboration with El Congreso General de la Cultura Guna. The Guna are one of the largest indigenous groups in Panamá and were the first indigenous people to gain autonomy in the Americas. AMIGOS Volunteers in Guna Yala will live in small islands communities and collaborate with youth to celebrate the traditional Guna culture as well as work to promote environmental awareness.
