Salt Lake City Chapter
The Salt Lake City Chapter of Amigos de las Américas is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization. Our chapter prepares teens and young adults from Salt Lake City, UT for a full cultural immersion experience and community service in Latin America. Our volunteers participate in projects of 6-8 weeks in length in one of several Latin American countries. We are seeking to inspire and build young leaders through collaborative community development and immersion in cross-cultural experiences.
The Salt Lake City Chapter is one of 26 nationwide chapters of AMIGOS. Each fall, we invite qualified high school and college students, 16 years and older, to join our training program, where we prepare them for a summer of service and youth leadership in Latin America.
This summer our Volunteers will be living with host families throughout Latin America. They will be leading service projects developed in consultation with the local residents and in-country agencies. The projects will range from health and hygiene programs for kids, to environmental and nutritional programs, to working in national parks.
