Allison Fishbein joined the International Office Staff in 2009 as the Correspondent Volunteer Program Associate. She was an AMIGOS Volunteer in Paraguarí, Paraguay.

Allison is originally from Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated from Illinois State University with a BA in Spanish and minors in Latin American Studies and Psychology. In college, Allison was active in the Alternative Spring Break program and volunteered domestically in Philadelphia and Oklahoma, working with issues of urban environment and Native Americans. Allison was also a four-year member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team. As team captain, Allison organized the participation of her teammates in charitable events raising money for Habitat for Humanity and American Cancer Society. Previously, Allison worked closely with the Citizenship Caseworker as an intern at The Immigration Project – an organization based in Bloomington, IL that is a non-profit provider of immigration legal services.
