Heidi joined the AMIGOS International Office Staff as Managing Director of Training in 2005. Though not a veteran of AMIGOS programs, Heidi did public health fieldwork in the mountain villages of Tanzania. She was drawn to Amigos de las Américas by its mission, which is congruent with her passion of enhancing the health of our world community by building bridges between cultures. Heidi graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health and a minor in Nutrition from the University of Houston. While at the University of Houston, she was an active member and officer in the campus peer education program. In addition to her formal education, Heidi has a combined 10 years of professional work history in public relations and client communications.

Though born in Seattle, Washington, Heidi was raised in Kailua, Hawaii. She has lived in Houston since 2002. In her free time, Heidi enjoys the warm Gulf Coast weather, running, tango, salsa, bird-watching, Broadway productions, avant garde theatre, ballet and any other celebration of life.
