Alyssa moved to Houston in February 2011 to join the AMIGOS team. Prior to this, Alyssa most recently worked for an Austin, TX-based State Department designated visa sponsor, Alliance Abroad Group, which brings 7,000+ international students to the US each year on cultural exchange programs. Over the years, Alyssa has spent time abroad, including studying in Prague, Czech Republic, teaching English in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and interning at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. She holds an M.A. in International Studies from Texas State University and a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys live music, cooking, reading, traveling and most recently, exploring Houston.
