Liz began her AMIGOS career as an East Bay Chapter Volunteer in the Dominican Republic in 1997. She returned to AMIGOS again as a Project Supervisor in Bolivia in 1999. She then served on Senior Staff as a Senior Project Supervisor in the Dominican Republic in 2000 and as Project Director in Mexico in 2001. Throughout this period and on through 2009, Liz remained active in East Bay Chapter serving as Associate Training Director for several years.
Prior to working at AMIGOS, Liz was the Associate Director of Crea Comunidades de Emprendedores A.C. CREA is a Mexican non-profit that helps marginalized women microentrepreneurs grow and consolidate their businesses through training, networking and consulting. At CREA, Liz developed an in-house impact evaluation system, developed programs, managed field staff, and engaged with funders and partners.
Liz has a Master of Science in Development Management from the London School of Economics and holds bachelor’s degrees in Development Studies, Geography and Education from the University of California Berkeley.
