Sara began her AMIGOS career as an East Bay Chapter Volunteer in Costa Rica in 1997. She returned to AMIGOS again as a Volunteer in Brazil in 1998 and a Project Supervisor in the Dominican Republic in 2000. She then served on Senior Staff as Associate Project Director in the Dominican Republic in 2001 and as Project Director in Paraguay in 2003.
Prior to working at AMIGOS, Sara was Vice Chair of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of California, Berkeley from 2006-2009. In this role she oversaw the daily operations of the center and worked as a liaison between academics and leaders in the Americas and the university. She also served as a Training Director for the East Bay Chapter from 2008-2009.
Sara has a Master of Science in Development Management from the London School of Economics and holds bachelor’s degrees in Conservation and Resource Studies and Spanish from the University of California Berkeley.
