Susie Ventura
As a native of Mexico who came to the United States when she was 9, Susie absolutely understands and values the opportunities youth leadership and community development can provide to teens today. Knowing that she wanted to work with youth, Susie received her Associate of Arts in Theatre and Film in order to become a children’s theatre director. After an amazing experience with a summer program, she found a new passion in leadership development and received her B.S. in Recreation and Public Administration at Texas State University.
Previous to her time with AMIGOS, Susie was the Youth Recruitment and Program Director for the C5 Youth Foundation of Texas in Austin, a non-profit program which develops leadership skills in high performing youth from under resourced communities. She is committed to personal growth in order to be a strong role model and loves using alternative educational methods to reach the hearts of the youth she serves. Susie is excited to be back in Houston, where she grew up, after five years.
